Dry project with craft dryer or blow dryer between each step. =)
1. Apply Gesso with a straight edge tool like a discarded gift card. Dry project.
2. Apply ephemera (paper items you are using for keepsakes) with liquid matte acrylic medium. Dry project.
3. Add texture and focal pieces with stencil and modeling paste or glue other items like metal trinkets, buttons, string, lace, and more.
4. Spread paint with "dry brush" technique or finger using chosen color scheme in random patterns or other pattern. Also use paint for more visual texture.
5. Add accents and additional visual texture with stamps and ink.

Step 1: "paint" your surface with Gesso

Step 2: dry it...or let it dry

Step 3: "glue" your paper/fabric/lace down
(this was the fun part!)

Step 4: add paint...

...add paint...

...adding more paint. =)

Rub/dab/brush/wipe paint on & off until you like it!
Thank you SO much, Mrs. Rockett for coming over and teaching us!

Happy Birthday to us!

Dear Ladies,

Did you know that January is the Hebrews 10:24 Society's 2nd Birthday/Anniversary?!  It is! =)

I want to say thank you to all you wonderful ladies who have made our group what it is, and making it all possible.

I wish that I could tell you exactly how many dollars, how much food & how much cheer we have collected and re-distributed, but I can not.  But I can tell you that it has been a lot, and we are blessed to have put smiles on so many faces and ever so many hearts.

I pray that the Hebrews 10:24 Society will continue to fill a niche, and outlive our youngest members. And perhaps most of all, that we will continue to be what we started out to be: a blessing to many (including - if not especially - the attendees), without the division of politics, religion, race, or ideals- even just for one evening a month.

Love and hugs~

Adrienne McKee
Organizer, Secretary, Treasurer, Webmaster....

.....And let us consider one another to provoke unto
love and to good works:
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more.....”

~Tamale making party~

Many hands make light work! Especially when it comes to making tamales! For many of us this was the first time. We each brought our pre-made filling to the meeting, and we made about 80 dozen total.

January minutes:
~Thank you SO much, Elizabeth Hutchins & Sarah Hale (and families!) for taking all the time to teach & help us learn something new! Make Tamales!
~Dues this month went to help the Piano Teacher, Laura Maxwell whose house burned down.
~A short time of Prayer was had.
~No door prize.
~Sarah & Hannah Hale provided the location.
~It was decided that next month, we would rent the Campbell Community Center and have a Salad Dinner, dues again going to Laura Maxwell.

Thank you SO much for all your hard work, ladies!

It's time

I think that it's time (maybe past time) for the Hunt County Texas chapter of the Hebrews 10:24 Society to have a blog.  Don't you think?

If we had a Secretary, I'd vote her in charge of posting on the blog, but as I (Adrienne) seem to be the President, Secretary, Treasurer, and main Hostess, I'll try to be prompt & concise in my posting.   I hope that you will enjoy this effort.

I would like an official Secretary...are you interested?
And an official photographer...are you interested?
